The Winter Jacket

Wearing: Stussy Jasper Duffle Coat / Op-Shop Tiger Tee / Rupcurl Watch / Revlon Violet Vamp Lipstick / Luichiny Boots

I've been indulging in a bit too much retail therapy as of late - not that I'm complaining, but it's having rather negative effects on my bank account as you can imagine.
I found this Stussy Duffle Coat just in time for Winter, it's got a hood, pockets and I'm also a lover of a good black coat - so this ticks all the boxes.
It's getting darker so much earlier latley with the Winter weather setting in here in Wellington. This forces my outfit pictures to move inside which I'm not necessarily a fan of - I think I need to go on a hunt for some cool new photo spots, because there's only so much of the same spot one can handle.
Remember change is good.

I also want to say thanks to the lovely Kate, from Kates Wardrobe  for mentioning me in her 'Ones To Watch Post'. Her blog is great so go check it out and let her know I sent you ;)

Please hype this look if you like it and don't forget to check out my Facebook page to keep up to date.

Also, leave me a comment so I can check out your blog :)

Glimpse

Wearing: Glassons Cardi / Luichiny boots / Unknown Shirt and Skirt.

So even though the weather was not so flash/bucketing down yesterday, Kendra and I improvised and took photos inside. I'm usually not a fan because of the lack of natural lighting but I think these look quite grunge and industrial... I think I like?
I've been wearing my new Luichiny boots to death since I got them, they go so well with whatever I put on. I may go as far as to say they're the perfect winter boot?

I finally got my laptop back thanks to a smashed screen, so life can now proceed as usual :)
Also as you may or may not notice I chopped all of my hair off - it was quite a spur of the moment thing but I really like it. I feel kind of addicted and want to go shorter again, soon I will have no hair left!

If anyone is wanting to order off iHerb.com (it's the cheapest place for Real Techniques brushes) and you're a new customer, you can use the code QNQ890 to receive $10 off your first order of $40 or more, or they can take $5 off orders less than $40. Just letting ya know :)

Last but not least a wee hello to my new readers, it's lurrvley to have ya here x
Please head over the Novella Place Facebook page and show it some lurrve.

Current Girl Crush: Angelica Blick

Okay so I've been major fan girling over this lovely lady for awhile now.
I just love her effortless sense of style - she dresses her small frame so well and to be honest I look through her pictures just admiring her amazingly perfect hair. I've had major hair envy for oh so long and over the weekend I decided to go for it and cut myself an Angelica Blick inspired hair do.
Watch this space for my new haircut...

Also as you may or may not know my laptop currently with the insurance company getting the screen repaired, so apologies in advance because I don't know when it will be finished yet and blogging off my boyfriends laptop is difficult to say the least.

The Black Patent Booties

Wearing: Thrifted cardi / Thrifted Tee / Levis Jeans / Delux Chic Bag / Luichiny booties

Working in retail requires a comfortable outfit for sure. I threw this outfit together this for work this weekend and actually really like it. I swear the spur of the moment outfits turn out much more successful than those ultra planned ones?? Maybe it's just me. Looking back at it now I do look a tad disco-ball esk with the sparkly tee and shiny boots, but it's fun none the less.

The cardi and tee are both thrifted so are one offs - I really like the 'character'(holes) that the cardi has from it's previous life. I also picked up these cool patent leather boots the other day which I surprised myself with - for so long I have detested patent leather shoes so I don't know what I was doing but I'm loving them so far. They give off the classic doc martien vibes while being more feminine and not so chunky monkey which I love. These babies will be a staple for this lovely winter weather which has apparently set on Wellington of late.

In other news I drank for the first time in awhile last-night, and to be honest it just reminded me of what I wasn't missing out on. I was left feeling not-so-flash the next day and hadn't gained anything from it, I don't know how I went so hard in first year of Uni. Kudos to me. I feel like a granny now ;)

I hope the weekend treated everyone nicely and you all remembered to remind your Mum's just how much you appreciate them this Mothers Day. What do you think of Patenet leather shoes?

April Beauty Favourites

Revlon Colourstay - Normal/Dry skin
I think I'm the only person in the whole Beauty Bloggisphere who hadn't tried Revlon Colour stay up until recently, and I now understand the hype. It ticks all the boxes on the perfect foundation list... it's got great build-able coverage, it's long lasting while not being cakey - and although I have heard others complain that it smells slightly funky, I haven't noticed that myself. Also another bonus is that it matches my skin tone almost perfectly, which is so rare when you're dealing with the limited drugstore/pharmacy colour ranges. I likey!

Batiste dry shampoo - Tropical - $5.99
I purchased the mini size to try it out and see if I like it and I LOVE THIS STUFF. It smells like tropical heaven and doesn't leave any grey, dull residue on your hair. I mostly use it to give a bit of volume and lift to my roots, and also give my hair a blast of yummyness.

Loreal Telescopic Mascara
My all time favourite mascara. It has an amazing formula that doesn't clump your lashes, but gives them sky high length without crumbly fakes by the end of the day. I always get compliments on my eyelashes when I'm sporting this mascara, so it's definitely a keeper :)

Simple Moisturiser - $9.99
Lovely, light moisturiser perfect for day-time use. It's kind to skin so ideal if you have sensitive skin, this moisturiser has never broken me out I only have great things to say about it. Definitely a staple that I continue to re-purchase.

Maybelline Master Precise Liquid liner - $14.99
This liner has my favourite type of tip, a very thin felt tip. It makes a very accurate line possible, and allows you to apply more pressure for a thicker line or less for a delicate towards the center of the eye. The staying power is great and it doesn't smudge of flake throughout the day.

The Body Shop Madagascan Vanilla Flower Perfume Oil
I was forced to get this when The Body Shop discontinued my favourite ever Vanilla AND Dewberry Oils, but I'm not complaining because it kindled a new love for me. This Perfume Oil smells delicious - it reminds me of cosy Vanilla cookies baking, while being on a tropical island escape. Weird combo but it's totally working for me :)
I feel like the fact that it's an Oil means it sinks into your skin more and lasts longer throughout the day. This is one fragrance I continue to repurchase over and over again because it's such a delicious, versatile scent.

Maybelline Baby lips - Berry Crush - $4.99
This gives a subtle berry wash to the lips, it does taste/smell a bit funky which I'm not a fan of, but it's totally bearable. A great addition to the handbag and a great, quick product to inject some colour and liveliness to the face.

** Mini life update: #1 My laptop screen smasher yesterday - I was not a happy camper. Luckily it's still kind of use-able and should be fixed soon enough.
#2 I'm expecting some exciting beauty/make-up bist and bobs in the mail any day now so keep an eye on this space!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and as usual, leave a comment below and I'll check our your blog.

The Patterned Pant

Wearing - Madlove jeans / Windsor Smith Chunk Sandal / Factorie Singlet Photos courtesy of Kendra from stoleninspiration.com

Another comfortable, very casual work outfit of the day from the weekend. I've been wearing these sandals to death lately but I just can't help it, they just go so easily with everything I put on.
Today it was like the world was ending here in Wellington. There were torrential down pores, floods, an earthquake, thunder, lightening and wind - an all round ripper of the day :) I bet you're all jealous!

Please hype if you like this look - and what do you think of my new shooting location ?

I hope you're all well, comment below and i'll have a nosey at your blog xxx

The Camo Crop + Button Down Maxi

Wearing: Windsor Smith Chunk Sandal / Deulx Chic Handbag / Thrifted lace vest / Army Surplus crop

I come to you with another outfit of the day - and as you can see the wind was not on my side on this day. Luckily I was working inside so it didn't phase me :) Although it does make trying to take graceful photos quite difficult... I had to sift through many gumpy, weird faces and poses to try and find some half decent pictures today.
Once again I'm wearing my lurrrrvly Windsor Smith sandals that are a dream to wear - so comfortable. I paired them with this button down midi skirt (that's more of a maxi on me) holla shawwwtays, and this Army surplus top that I butchered up into a crop along with the lace vest, of which I also butchered too.

It's beginning to feel more wintery - but some days the weather here in New Zealand just can't make it's mind up.
My day has consisted of downing copious amounts of tea and coffee(delish hazelnut flavour) while sitting on my bed all rugged up, trying to complete a News Media Assignment for Uni.
Although I'm not complaining - I have spent a raaather large portion of the day catching up on my Fav YouTube gurus and lusting over way too many beauty and make-up products..

Just to update you all, I've submitted my assignment and also just got my Construction paper mark back which I got an A- for, yay!! Proof that a lot of hard work does pay off :)

The Black Pinafore Dress

This black pinafore dress was one of the matching ones my Mum and I bought back when I was about 12...  HAHA I know matching clothes with my Mum, what can I say?
I got a white one and her a black - the one I'm wearing above. I fished it out when I went back to my parents house in the Uni break, it's so versatile and easy to throw on when you're having one of those I-don't-know-what-to-wear days.
I love the combo of the maroon and black - but don't ask me about the pink stripes on the flip side of the pinafore.. they're just there :)

As for the rest of the outfit, the boots are some I got on sale for around $10 a few years ago and haven't worn since buying them.. I'm great at doing that! And the cardi is Glassons, which you would have seen a few posts back.
